Abstract

We have established an index of the longitudinal risk estimate called "PRE" based on human perception (feelings of "approaching" and "coming") and validated it by actual vehicle tests. The PRE was compared with other indices such as TTC, RF, and KdB_c, and it was shown that the PRE is a comprehensive and enhanced model of those indices.
