Abstract

The effect of improved visibility at night by the adoption of the Adaptive Front-lighting System is promising. However, the effectiveness evaluation considering the human characteristics of the lighting control system is not enough. In order to confirm the AFS is really beneficial for drivers, it is necessary to perform an evaluation of performance by considering the vehicle as a man-machine that is integrated with human characteristics. This study investigated the influence of the lighting control of the driver by using the driving simulator. And we simulated the driving behavior of the lighting controlled by using the variable preview time model. As a result, the effect of the lighting control was clarified.
