Abstract

A position information of a vanishing point is necessary to estimate three dimensional information using optical flow in the image obtained from in-vehicle camera, however, the vanishing point would not exist when a host vehicle turns. Therefore, in this paper, we propose a new technique for estimating three dimensional information in which the vanishing point is not used by extracting optical flow in each area classified into vehicles, the road surface, and the background regions.
