Abstract

Some approaches to understanding driver and vehicle dynamic characteristics using jerk information are studied in this paper. Observing the driver's each maneuvers through all the process from braking and turn to cornering state and accelerating to go out the corner, the durations of combination of longitudinal and lateral acceleration were specified, and the generation periods of yaw moment caused by tire vertical load shift also were specified by the jerk information. The periods are rational from the vehicle dynamics point of view, and we confirmed the drivers did "Yaw moment control by tire vertical load shifts". An experimental understanding and theoretical study are discussed.
