Abstract

Measuring the risks of transporting hazardous materials on the surrounding environment in Kuwait is the crucial purpose for this paper. Dangerous Goods Routing Algorithm (DGRA) was adopted and developed to be used for the data of State of Kuwait. All risks and algorithms were examined and reshaped in accordance with law and regulation of Kuwait. Some of the data were assumed because of security and confidential reasons. The data was gathered from Alsoor Fuel Company (ALFA). The case study was a 36,000--L fuel truck exposure to a release of fuel continuously in the road. Tools assessments were used to analyze the condition. ArcGIS was used for visualization. A footprint was generated by The Areal Locations of Hazardous Atmosphere (ALOHA) based on the risks evaluated and Kuwait's environment. Then, the footprint was executed in ArcGIS to present the case scenario into Kuwait's map. Each route was evaluated regarding the risks and environment. An impacted zone of each path is presented in the map showing the sensitive places along each route and population crowd.
