Abstract

Avulsions of the anterosuperior iliac spine in young sportsmen treated at Pisa University Orthopaedic Clinic are described. The condition was treated by surgical reduction and osteosynthesis sometimes in association with a spica cast. The pathogenetic mechanism symptoms and treatment results of the 9 cases observed are described in detail.
