Abstract

Comments upon report by Kramer CF, Thode HC Jr, Kahn CJ, and Barancik JI that questions the value of hospital discharge data for injury prevention planning. This letter points out that suveillance data need not be perfect to be useful and that knowing the the limitations of the data allow a user to take into account those limitations when making decisions.
