Abstract

The purpose was to identify the effect of caregiving stress and caregiving service on the depression and suicidal ideation targeting the Korean daughters-in-law. To achieve this, a survey was conducted from September to December of 2014 and conclusively, the data of 152 people was used for analysis. As a result of the study, the caregiving stress and caregiving service had an influence on the suicidal ideation using the depression as a mediator, and the direct path of caregiving stress and caregiving service on the suicidal ideation was not significant. Among the three variables, the depression was found to have the greatest influence on the suicidal ideation, and the caregiving stress, caregiving service and depression had explained the suicidal ideation of Korean women who supports their parents-in-law by 53%. © 2015 International Information Institute.
