Abstract |
When the above article was first published online, incorrect footnote 5 has been placed. The correct footnote should appear as below: This is a retelling based on newspaper reports (published in Asashi News, Yomiuri Newspaper, Mainichi News, and Kokumin News) and books released in 1932 that are cited elsewhere in this article. The battlefield part of the Miaohang account and sentences from the 'Bloodstained Handkerchief' episode come verbatim or nearly verbatim from a previously published article.
