Abstract

Macunovich presents as convincing a set of results in favor of the expanded Easterlin model as possible given the nontechnical nature of the presentation. She shows economists that they can get mileage out of modeling taste formation and material aspirations, which is perhaps the main contribution of the book. Economists who want an overview of the Easterlin-type approach will want to read this book
