Abstract

Kaihryn L. Tucker, JD, is an attorney with the firm of Perkins Coie in Seattle Washington. Ms. Tucker is lead counsel in Compassion in Dying el al. v. Washington, the first federal challenge to the constitutionality of a state statute prohibiting assisting suicide, and in Quilt et al. v. Koppell, a similar challenge pending in New York. Ms.Tucker served as counsel to the sponsors of Initiative 119, the first effort nationwide to legalize physician aid-in-dying for mentally competent, terminally ill patients. © 1995, Informa UK Ltd.
