Abstract

Studied the relation of sociodemographic variables, suicide acceptance, family dynamics, and behavioral characteristics. Human Ss: 1,537 normal male and female Italian adolescents and adults (aged 15-25 yrs). Data on sociodemographic variables, attitudes toward suicide, family dynamics, and behavioral characteristics were obtained by questionnaire. The results were evaluated according to age; sex; marital status; educational level; occupational status; attitude toward and acceptance of suicide; reasons for acceptance of suicide; satisfaction with social position; spending free time alone; ability to confide in family members, friends, partners, priests, or therapist; and value placed on family, work, girl- or boy-friend, or friends.
