Abstract

Letter to the editor regarding the letter from Dr. Gladstone and Dr. Kelman on the pacifist position (American Psychologist, 1951, 6, 127- 128). The author contents that this letter contributed to the debate on U.S. foreign policy, but it also raised questions of professional ethics. The letter questioned the widespread, but usually tacit, assumption that the various professions are so many instruments of national policy. What was the meaning of such a question? The author questions Gladstone and Kelman's pacifistic views. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
