Abstract

This case report describes a highly unusual way of committing suicide: the insertion of a cylindrical foreign body through the penile urethra, resulting in perforation of the urinary bladder and abdominal hemorrhage. The manner of death was determined by a psychological autopsy that successfully ruled out an autoerotic (accidental) death. The case is presented in order to alert medical examiners and psychiatrists that such a unique and painful method of taking one's life exists.
