Abstract

This paper briefly outlines the evolution of modern forensic medicine in Great Britain from the coroner system originally implemented. It focuses on the role of Andrew Duncan, Sr. in creating a chair in medical jurisprudence and establishing a precedent for the teaching of forensic medicine to students and practitioners alike.
