Abstract

Many parents in Korea approve of discipline by the rod. In fact, physical punishment of children has been regarded in Korea as a family affair rather than a social issue. Today, however, it is winning social attention in that it can become a form of domestic or social violence that can adversely affect the whole society as well as the family and individual.
