Abstract

Posttraumatic stress disorder is a condition that often follows an event such as a car accident. The case reported here was manifested by nightmares and periods of unreality. The disorder can be effectively dealt with by encouraging the patient to remember, to repetitively talk about, and to gradually understand the meaning of the experience.
