Abstract

This paper describes a method for measuring meandering using computer vision, and the correlation between vehicle meandering and the driver's alertness level. To calculate the amount of meandering, the system recognizes white lane markings on the road and reads the displacement of the center of both white lines. There is significant correlation between the amount of meandering and blinking duration, so the amount of meandering is an effective index to estimate a driver's alertness level.
