Abstract

Violence is so pervasive and debilitating in America that it often seems to defy solution. But there are some among us who believe the problem can be solved, and they are doing something about it. Their strategies: establishing partnerships among stakeholders in the community and creating practical prevention and treatment methodologies. Here is a sampling of programs--several directly related to healthcare--dedicated to addressing the problems of violence in our society.
