Abstract

The current article discusses the author's experience with creating and teaching a course in “Violent Crime Scene Investigation” to undergraduate criminal justice students. The design of the course is addressed, including the course setting, description, goals, content and sample assignments, tours, guest speakers, and a virtual crime scene laboratory. The author will then present some issues that were faced in creating and teaching the course as well as some suggestions to overcome these hurdles while maintaining effective student engagement.
