Abstract

This article describes a New Zealand study which examines the relationship between child pedestrian mortality and traffic volume over a period from 1967 to 1987. The results are compared with international trends in child pedestrian mortality. Special mention is given to statistics from the United States, Britain, Denmark, Sweden and Germany.
