Abstract

The Environmental Protection Agency's 2007 truck emission regulations are summarized. Changes include: high purchase prices for trucks and school buses, more expensive low-emission engines and after treatment systems, more expensive diesel fuel using ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD), a new required engine oil and more frequent oil changes, greater demand for engine coolant, and additional maintenance costs. Training for managers and technicians on the new changes will be needed.
