Abstract

This paper discusses computer programs for accident reconstruction (Highway Vehicle Object Simulation Model; Simulation Model of Automobile Collision; Calspan Reconstruction of Accident Speeds on the Highway), and then describes microcomputuer programs for traffic accident reconstruction. In particular it focuses on TAAR-2 Program to demonstrate the reconstruction of 2 actual traffic accidents. Disadvantages in using microcomputers in reconstructing traffic accidents are noted. As long as the accident investigator is aware of the limitations of these programs, they are useful tools in the reconstruction of traffic accidents.
