Abstract

A summary of the full report prepared by the ITE committee is presented. The objective of Committee 4A-A was to develop a state-of-the-art report on the use of "Yield" signs and on the effectiveness of these devices in controlling traffic at intersections and elsewhere. The committee was to review past reports and pertinent studies on "Yield" sign use and to include regulations governing use, warrants for, and the effectiveness of these devices as compared with alternative methods and their necessary levels of enforcement.
