Abstract

The author reports a case of poisonous snake bite by Naja naja naja, in India. The patient recovered rapidly after treatment by antivenom serum. He emphasizes the importance of prompt intravenous injection of serum. Serum is less active for viper bites, and should be injected even more rapidly. However, in France, some authors prefer Heparin for treating French viper bites. Further studies are needed to clarify this therapeutic problem.
