Abstract

It is suggested that a large number of drink driving fatalities among adolescents in Ontario are the result of bush parties - large social gatherings held in a field or forest. This paper examines the extent of bush party attendance together with alcohol use and drink driving at these events. Also examined are predictors of attendance at, and drink driving at bush parties. It was found that 38% of students interviewed had attended a bush party in the last 12 months, 89% reported drinking and 58% had observed drink driving.
