Abstract

Types of intersections are illustrated and described on the basis of experience with their use. The advantages and disadvantages of various configurations--cross, offset, "T", "Y", Forked, and flat angle forked-- are described for simple intersections. Traffic islands, roundabouts, traffic circles, and deceptive layouts are dealt with briefly.
