Abstract

Body-packer syndrome is the Anglo-american term for intracorporeal transport of drugs packed in rubber or plastic containers. The most serious complications of this syndrome are ileus and acute intoxication with the smuggled drugs. In case of sudden disorders without any other detectable reasons, in particular in drug dependent subjects, it is important to consider the possibility of body-packer syndrome. In future a rising incidence of this syndrome must be foreseen in the Czech Republic.
