Abstract

Contracting out the emergency services has been an important issue in Denmark since 1926. This paper explains the Danish experiences, and draws a few lines to the conducting of emergency services in other countries. The issue of privatisation or contracting out is new in many countries, but the straightening of public budgets makes it an interesting matter.
