Abstract

This article presents the results of a survey of two types of safety practitioners, those who represent employers (n=111) and those who represent workers (n=134). This survey was carried out in order to better understand their respective roles and functions within companies. Based on a literature review of the latest knowledge about safety practitioners, we drew up a theoretical framework for their work. We then analyzed our survey to determine the main characteristics of their work context. Their work was subsequently categorized according to three dimensions (organizational, human and technical) and two activity levels (strategic and operational).
