Abstract

The Editors and Governing Board of the Society for Terrorism Research (STR) would like to welcome you to the new flagship STR journal, Behavioral Sciences of Terrorism and Political Aggression (BSTPA). BSTPA seeks to publish integrated and cross-disciplinary, theoretical and empirical articles focused on issues of political violence. Focusing both on state and nonstate-sponsored political conflict, the purpose of BSTPA is to disseminate new models and theoretical paradigms with which to understand issues of terrorism and political aggression in complex terms, and also to disseminate new empirical science to further our knowledge about this category of violence. BSTPA aims to move beyond politically laden and culturally centric perspectives on terrorism and political aggression, and to develop a more integrated and interdisciplinary science supported by data and theory.
