Abstract

Broberg, E., 1984. Use of census data combined with occupational accident data. Journal of Occupational Accidents, 6: 147-153.The number of accidents in different occupations, age groups and sex are compared with the number of persons working in corresponding groups in Sweden. The accident frequency rates show that food processers have the highest rate, especially butchers and meat preparers. The study also shows that in all occupations men have higher rates than women and that the youngest age group has the highest rate. Thus the group with the highest rate is male food processers up to 24 years. The study shows that the accident frequency rates have decreased from 1965 to 1980 for almost all occupations. One remarkable exception is food processers, where the rate has increased.
