Abstract

Janssens, L., Grotenhuis, H., Michiels, H. and Verhaegen, P., 1989. Social organizational determinants of safety in nuclear power plants: Operator training in the management of unforeseen events. Journal of Occupational Accidents, 11: 121-129.Sociopsychological factors play a critical role in the safety of complex systems such as nuclear power plants. It is essential that the members of a team exchange technical information with total frankness and, in the event of an incident, their diagnostic assumptions. The present article describes a specific training program in this regard and gives results of a tentative evaluation of this program.
