Abstract

Investigations have been carried out on the immunological reactivity of workers engaged in machine building enterprises and metallurgy of the combined effect of electromagnetic fields (EMF) and noise. Statistical significant data have been established for the suppression of some indices of natural immunity of a group of workers subjected to the combined influence of the EMFs and noise in comparison to a group of workers subjected only to noise and the control group. There is a certain decrease of the bactericidal properties of the skin, phagocytic number and phagocytic activity of the neutrophyles in blood. The conditions of work are characterised by intensive EMFs ranging from 1 to 70 kHz for the electric field (E) -- from 9.3 to 134.8 , for the magnetic field (H) -- from 16.3 to 423.5 , while the noise level -- from 84 to 104 dB(A).
