Abstract

A review was conducted to introduce common tools of domestic violence assessment and their usage in China. The Conflict Tactics Scale (CTS), the Composite Abuse Scale (CAS), the Childhood Trauma Questionnaire (CTQSF) were useful research tools. HITS, the Ongoing Violence Assessment Tool (OVAT), the Abuse Assessment Screen (AAS) were screening tools in clinical setting and general population. The Woman Abuse Screening Tool (WAST) was used as research tool and diagnostic tool as well. The HITS was the most precise diagnostic tools in emergency department. AAS focused on maltreatment of pregnant women and OVAT emphasized to evaluate ongoing abused behavior. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2010 APA, all rights reserved) (journal abstract)
