Abstract

Objective: To investigate the personalities of male perpetrators of physical domestic violence and provide help to interfere in family violence further. Methods: A case-control association study was used. 156 male samples who demonstrated domestic violent behavior and a control group of 44 were tested by demographic data and EPQ. Results: The demographic data showed that the years of school education of the physical domestic violence group were significantly lower than those of the normal control group, while the former had more smokers than the latter. The E score of EPQ and the APDS scores of the physical domestic violence group were statistically higher than those of the normal control group (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The male perpetrators of physical domestic violence have a lower educational level and are more liely to be smokers. And they have special personalities.
