Abstract

National Falls Awareness Week (NFAW), organised by Age UK, runs from 20-24 June 2011. It aims to raise awareness among older people, friends and families, health professionals and policy makers of the risk of falling as we age and the conditions that increase the chance of a fall. It also highlights the practical changes that can reduce the risk of a fall, by promoting and encouraging participation in falls prevention services, particularly among those not currently accessing services.
