Abstract

Among the effects of sexual integration of the workplace has been an increase in the opportunities for, and incidence of, sexual harassment. Sexual harassment, and women's responses to it, can be understood as reflections of the different evolved sexual psychologies of the sexes. Among the issues discussed are whether the abusiveness of work environments should be viewed from the perspective of the 'reasonable person' or the 'reasonable woman,' whether sexual harassment is really 'about power' rather than about sex, and whether harassment that takes a sexual form is necessarily 'because of the sex of the victim.
