Abstract

Administered the Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory to a group of long-term prisoners, many of whom had committed violent crimes. Results do not confirm a relationship between Buss-Durkee Total Hostility scores and violence among prisoners and suggest that the inventory measures aggressive attitudes rather than behavior.
