Abstract

innovative aspect of this study is that the impact of domestic violence(DV) on children and their mothers and supports for both of them were clarified as follows: first, children affected by DV showed a negative psychological phase, such as a restraint of emotion, lethargy, or outbursts of rage; second, mothers abused by DV held lower self-esteem; third, both children and their mothers who had been affected by DV have still resilience in spite of their trauma. Three subjects・ a 6-year-old boy, a 8-year-old girl, and a 12-year-old boy who live in a welfare facility・ were observed and their verbal and behavioral acts were analyzed by using a clinical-psychological approach including main counseling, sand play, and art therapy. Their mothers, one of the factors of children's growing environment, were also observed with an intersubjective approach and their verbal and behavioral acts were analyzed through counseling by a clinical-psychological therapist.
