Abstract

Recently, visual surveillance using ITV cameras becomes much popular because the concept of "safe and relief" is strongly required. Some examples show that surveillance camera is effective to reduce crimes, however, problems are still remaining for future needs. In this paper, we introduce our latest two examples; an intruder detection system and violence detection system for elevator cars. Performance of our intruder detection algorithm has been improved by analyzing detailed motion information of extracted moving regions. The violence detection has also motion analysis module and it enabled to distinguish true crimes from usual human motions. Based on these two real examples, I summarized important problems in CV technologies and its related ones, especially in practical development. Also some future useful needs are suggested in this paper.
