Abstract

Research that describes how forms and features of child care systems can influence the development of social compentency with peers during the infancy to preschool periods of development is reviewed. Interactions between child care and familial systems in influencing social compentency with peers are also examined. Many of the potential associations between child care and social compentency with peers, which have not been researched, are suggested for future research.
