Abstract

This paper deals with the following topics: (a) The defining features of the Gulf War, a war that was like no other in Israeli experience; (b) Extent of physical damage caused by the war; (c) Prevalence and intensity of the psychological stress reactions and coping behaviors immediately prior to, during, and after the war; (d) Identification of stress-conducive and stress-resistant variables; (e) Peer review of Psychology's wartime contributions; and (f) Conclusions.
