Abstract

Evidence is presented which indicates that mental activity, such as is involved in reading, tends to reduce organic fatigue effects in some individuals, in so far as such effects may be indicated by work decrement in ergograph operation. The results are attributed to withdrawal of attention from the cumulative feeling of tiredness. (PsycINFO Database Record (c) 2012 APA, all rights reserved)
