Abstract

This paper examines women's travel patterns and travel needs and the implications of these for transport planning and provision in the future. It examines the extent to which women's travel might be influenced by income, by access to alternative modes of transport, by residential location and the location of various activities, and the relationship of women's travel to household and family responsibilities. It also touches on the concerns of women for safe and secure travel by family members.
