Abstract

The process of the performance-based fire protection method is introduced. And the method of the fire probabilistic safety assessment (PSA) and the fire protection deign in the nuclear power plant are described. The combination of the performance-based fire protection and the fire protection deign in the nuclear power plant are discussed, and the fire PSA will be used to validate to improve the design and the fire safety level in the nuclear power plant. The process of the combined method is also described. Although there are some improvements in the future, but the combination is possible and useful in the nuclear power plant fire protection design. The advantages and disadvantages of the combination are also discussed.
