Abstract

Experiments exhibit that the lighter fiber grating sensor is more advantageous to couple with the earth. In order to reduce the sensor coupling with the atmosphere, different sensitivity sensors are embedded underground. The experimental data show that reducing the sensor resonant frequency can improve the SNR of the system, but restrict the high frequency signals, and reduce the precision of P wave first arrival time pick. Experiments show the fiber grating sensor whose resonance frequency is 180 Hz can get a higher sensitivity and receive higher frequency microseismic signals at the same time. On the premise of good coupling, signal quality monitored by fiber grating sensors reaches the piezoelectric sensors monitoring level.
