Abstract

The ability of depressant drugs to impair driving ability has long been recognized. However, there is a paucity of published scientific research on the effects of stimulant drugs, such as cocaine, and driving impairment. The following is a case report of a fatal motor vehicle accident involving the use of cocaine. Issues surrounding cocaine's stability, analysis, interpretation and ability to produce impairment in driving are reviewed in relation to the presented case.
