Abstract

Forty-two burn injuries and 22 cold injuries were investigated. Both high temperature and cold induced tenocyte necrosis, and denatured and fragmented the collagen fibres. As a consequence of severe damages of tendon and of long lasting regeneration, it was believed that even in case of incidental healing restoration of the original function could not be expected.
