Abstract

Closer collaboration among employers, safety experts, and health professionals may help prevent thousands of on-the-job injuries from falls involving ladders, according to a new analysis.

Using data from several surveillance systems, investigators reported that 113 people died in 2011 after falling from a ladder at work. Another 34 000 workers had injuries that required emergency medical care and 15 460 others were hurt badly enough to need at least 1 day off from work (Socias CM et al.
